The latest spin-off from the blockbuster franchise Fast & Furious, Hobb & Shaw, grew well on the third day at the ticket window while Sonaskshi Sinha starrer Khandaani Shafakhana struggled at the box office.

Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw became the largest opening film of the franchise defeating the previous Fast & Furious film, The Fate of the Furious, which debuted in 2017 with Rs 12.30 crore. Thanks to the adrenaline-pumping trailer, solid marketing and aggressive promotion over social media, Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw also became the must-see film of this week all over the world.
The reviews from the critics were good and the audience feedback is encouraging in Imdb.com and Bookmyshow.com. Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw, starring Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham opened to 30% occupancy in the morning shows and picked up in the evening and night shows, consolidating to a staggering Rs 13.15 crore from 2100 screens in the versions and has now become the best opening film in the Fast & Furious franchise after The Fate of the Furious (Rs 12.30 crore). The earnings on the second day grew to Rs 13.75 crore followed by Rs 16 crore on Sunday, bringing the three days total to Rs 42.90 crore.
Sonkashi Sinha, Varun Sharma and rapper Badshaah starrer Khandaani Shafakhana was the only major Bollywood film released this week. The sex-comedy drama met with mixed reviews from critics but dismal response from the audience as per BoookMyShow.com which led to a disaster opening of just Rs 80 lakh on its first day.
Khandaani Shafakhana showed limited growth of Rs 90 lakh on Saturday followed by Rs 1 crore on Sunday, summing up the 3 days total to Rs 2.70 crore and will go nowhere from here.
