After Jasprit Bumrah’s exclusion from the 4th Test match against Australia at the Gabba, a new question arises for the visiting Indian team, “Who Will Replace The Prime Indian Pacer?”. Shardul Thakur and T. Natarajan are the two contenders to replace Bumrah in the fourth Test match at the Gabba.

Shardul Thakur made his Test debut in the year 2018 against West Indies, the swing bowler walked out of the field due to an injury after just bowling ten deliveries. After that incident, Thakur couldn’t make a place for himself in the playing XI of the longest format. However, in the limited-overs format also Thakur is yet to cement a permanent spot for himself.

T Natarajan made his international debut in 2020 after an impressive performance in the IPL in October. The left-arm pacer was effective in the limited-overs bilateral series against the Aussies.

The Indian team management along with the skipper Ajinkya Rahane and coach Ravi Shastri has a big task ahead of them of choosing between Thaur and Natarajan for the final Test.

The Border-Gavaskar Trophy is currently tied at 1-1. After a spectacular draw by the Indian team in the 3rd Test match at the SCG, the final Test at the Gabba will be a series decider. Considering the hosts’ record at the Gabba, team India needs to bring out their A-game to beat the Aussies at that venue.
