Yogesh has been a part of the Hindi film industry since the early 60s when he got his first break as a lyricist in the film Sakhi Robin in 1962. Some of his most evergreen songs were written in the 70s for films like Chhoti Si Baat, Baaton Baaton Mein, Manzil, Mili, Rajnigandha and of course Anand.
70s middle class Bombay, from Rajesh Khanna at Juhu beach, Amol & Tina in a local, Vidya Sinha waiting at bus stops & Asrani struggling with chopsticks at Flora restaurant. Lyricist Yogesh captured the essence of that Bombay in his songs for films like Anand & Choti Si Baat. RIP! pic.twitter.com/3IdFAlG0vV— Joy Bhattacharjya (@joybhattacharj) May 29, 2020
