For today’s generation friends are ones chosen family. Friendship has become an essential start to every relation and these are best depicted in films. Here is a list of films you can watch on Netflix that highlight the true bond of friendship

1. 3 Idiots:

Starring Aamir Khan, R. Madhavan, Sharman Joshi and Kareena Kapoor the film follows the friendship of three students at an Indian engineering college and is a satire about the social pressures under an Indian education system. From Rancho carrying Raju’s paralysed father to the hospital on a two wheeler to Farhaan agreeing to get married to Raju’s sister, this movie has taught the viewers the true meaning of friendship and the compromises which people are ready to make only for their friends.

2. Upstarts:

Three young college graduates Kapil, Yash and Vinay from small-town India, captivated by the startup mania sweeping the country. Three of them want to create their own startup that will change the world while making them pots of money! As they enter the roller coaster startup ecosystem of big dreams, big money and bigger sharks, they face the biggest question: What has greater value, their dreams or their friendship? Arguing about whose idea is better and coming to a midpoint, this movie will take you back to your college days and remind you of your sleepless night stays just to complete a group project. (Coming soon on October 18)

3. Kai Po Che: This Bollywood drama tells the story of three best friends who dream of starting a cricket training academy in Ahmedabad for very different reasons. They face problems like religious disparities, politics and riots which they overcome with their unbreakable bond of friendship. 4. Rang De Basanti: After a group of friends graduate from Delhi University, they aimlessly haunt their old campus, until a British filmmaker casts them in a film about freedom fighters. Although the group of friends are largely apolitical the tragic death of a friend owing to local government corruption awakens their patriotism. Inspired by freedom fighters like Bhagat Singh they represent the film, the friends collectively decide to avenge the killing. This movie is a true example for ‘I can die for you’ kind of friendship.

Wake up Sid: The film takes place in contemporary Mumbai and tells the story of spoiled, careless, rich-kid Sid Mehra (Ranbir Kapoor), a college student who is taught the value of owning up to responsibility by Aisha (Konkona Sen Sharma), an aspiring writer from Kolkata. Sid a rich spoilt brat evolves into a mature and responsible man after he spends time with a new friend, Aisha.
