Despite the negative reviews, the Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan starrer Thugs Of Hindostan became the first Hindi Film to touch the 50 crores mark at the box office.
Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan should start celebrating the Diwali as the action-adventure film, Thugs Of Hindostan, got off to a fantastic start in the morning shows across India. With an estimated budget of earth shattering Rs 300 crores, Thugs Of Hindostan was released in 5000 screens across India with 4500 screens in Hindi version and 500 screens released with dubbed version in South India. With the running time of 2 hours 44 minutes, the advance booking of Thugs Of Hindostan was already in third position after Bahubali – The Conclusion (Rs 37,53,00,000) and Avengers – Infinity War (Rs 28,14,00,000) and has beaten the records of Tiger Zinda Hai and Sultan.
The morning show occupancy of Thugs Of Hindostan was within range of 65-70% across India which was just fabulous and has beaten the Tiger Shroff starrer Baaghi 3 which had the best morning show occupancy till date. The film has done very well in the Delhi and NCR region where the morning show has already started at 8 AM. The occupancy rate in Uttar Pradesh was mind-blowing while Gujarat will have 1 week holiday so Thugs Of Hindostan will have good amount of time to bring some more cash. The collections did pick up towards the evening and night shows despite the negative reviews. As per early trade estimates, the opening day collections should be in the range of Rs 48-50 crores. With this figure, Thugs Of Hindostan breaks the highest opening day record held by Shah Rukh Khan starrer Happy New Year, which collected Rs 44.97 crores on its first day.
The only factor which might affect the film collections is the negative reviews it has been received from the critics. The user reviews are pouring in and are mostly mixed. Thugs Of Hindostan will have a 4 days extended weekend to cash on and also stars Katrina Kaif and Fatima Sheikh Sana in key roles.
