Kriti Sanon finally, REACTS to having Lukka Chuppi’s success bwing attributed to Kartik Aaryan!
It is always seen that most romantic films in Bollywood, don’t acknowledge the hard-work of the female leads, while talking about how successful the film has performed at the Box Office or by critics, people tend to ignore the very efforts put in by not just the male lead but his female counterpart. Same happened, with Kriti Sanon, when a debate came out that how Lukka Chuppi’s success was attributed solely to Kartik, who was male lead of the film.
Well, it isn’t only films that are romantic but also in many other genres and field, the female is looked to as a trophy rather than putting substance in the films.
In a candid chat with Bombay Times, The Arjun Patiala actress revealed that it was Taapsee Pannu who brought up the issue and later Arjun Kapoor, her Panipat co-star, also joined in. She also stated how this discussion has always been a part in-between her and Kartik Aaryan.
Kriti said, “The conversation started after a headline stating ‘Mr. Bachchan’s Badla and Kartik Aryan’s Luka Chuppi do well at the box office’, surfaced. Taapsee pointed it out and tweeted that female actors have also worked in these films. Though it happens at times, I think most people are scared nowadays about not mentioning the work of female actors; they fear that we might tweet about it. Once the conversation started, Arjun (Kapoor) and I also tweeted because a similar incident happened when they started talking about the clash of Panipat (which features Kriti and Arjun) and Pati Patni Aur Woh (Kartik Aaryan, Bhumi Pednekar, Ananya Panday). There are times when actresses are not given as much importance as the actors, even when it comes to mentioning them in the headline. You don’t call a romantic film a girl’s movie. Some people have a tendency to write in detail about the male lead’s performance and just two lines describing the leading lady’s work. That, too, they focus more on how pretty she looked. Now, that’s upsetting.”
However, adding to it all, Kriti Sanon explained how she doesn’t think nor give importance to the negativity of the situation, rather just keeps her focus on doing good films that entertain people and so that they don’t spoil the happy memories of it.
We shall soon see Kriti Sanon in her next outing, opposite Diljit Dosanjh and Varun Sharma in Arjun Patiala, slated to release on July 26.
