With four feature films and a digital show, Saif Ali Khan all set to have a massive 2020!

In the last couple of years, Saif has been quite experimental when it comes to his choices and he continues to be so…..

Perhaps, no other mainstream, commercial actor has experimented as much with his choice of roles and projects as much as Saif Ali Khan has. Though not all these projects (films and shows) have been commercially rewarding, the fact that he is willing to push his boundaries as an actor and is willing to go the extra mile to see what he can deliver as an artiste, is something that has definitely been noticed.

Saif will kick-start 2020 with ‘Tanhaji’, arguably the first big release of the year, in which he will be seen playing the ‘villain’ to Ajay Devgn’s ‘hero’. Saif and Ajay have worked together in a bunch of interesting films like ‘Kachche Dhaage’ (1999) and ‘Omkara’ (2006) and it would be interesting to see how their on-screen equation plays out this time around when their characters are pitted against each other. Just three weeks after ‘Tanhaji’, Saif will be seen in a fun, playboy-ish avatar in ‘Jawaani Jaaneman’. While the audience has loved him in these avatars in several films, this Nitin Kakkar directed film is touted to be a coming-of-age film, though in a more mature space. Reportedly, Saif lost 11 kilograms for his role in this film and those who have seen a few glimpses of the film are vouching for the fact that the actor is looking at least 15 years younger than his real age!

After kicking off the year with these two diverse films, the actor will be seen playing a ghost-buster in director Pavan Kirpalani’s ‘Bhoot Police’. The film also features Ali Fazal and Fatima Sana Shaikh in principal roles and the film is set in a zone which has never really been explored in Hindi cinema. After this, we will get to see the hit pair of Saif and Rani Mukerji in ‘Bunty Aur Babli 2’. In the film, Siddhant Chaturvedi and Sharvari play the new-age Bunty and Babli and Saif and Rani’s characters are expected to lend an interesting spin to the story.

Apart from four films, Saif also has a mammoth digital show in his kitty. He recently wrapped up the shoot of Ali Abbas Zafar’s web series ‘Taandav’ which will be streamed sometime next year. After being a part of the two successful seasons of ‘Sacred Games’, a show which gave a huge boost to the Indian digital entertainment space, it would be interesting to see the kind of world Saif explores with this show which is touted to be a political thriller.
