Naomi Campbell has revealed she dons rubber gloves and throughly disinfects her seat before flying on an aeroplane.

The supermodel has shared a video of her “airport routine” which shows her using antiseptic wipes to clean her first class seat on a commercial flight and the entire surrounding area before she sits down.

Campbell, 49, then covers the seat with her own personal blanket and puts on a medical mask to cover her nose and mouth to protect her from breathing in germs.

The fashionista explains as she puts on disposable latex gloves and takes the wipes out of her bag: “When I get on a plane... I clean everything you touch, anything you can possibly touch. All this stuff, anything you put your hands on.

“This is what I do on every plane I get on, I do not care what people think of me - it’s my health and it makes me feel better.”

Campbell is shown cleaning everything from the plasma screen to the window and wall of the plane. She then covers her seat with a pink blanket.

She says: “This is my seat cover, I change them every week, they’re always hand washed every hotel I go to. I switch out different colours that make you happy.”

The actress, author and businesswoman then covers her mouth with a surgical mask.

She says: “I will [wear this] the whole entire flight. No matter what plane you take, private or commercial, as the plane descends people start coughing and sneezing and the coughing and sneezing makes me... I just can’t. This is my protection from people coughing and sneezing.

“As much as I travel I should get sick so much more, colds and stuff, but I’m blessed that I don’t. And I really think that this helps me - my little routine.”

Campbell pled guilty in 2008 to assaulting two police officers at London’s Heathrow airport in an argument about lost luggage.

The cover star also reveals she can’t resist stocking up on sweets and chocolate in the airport Duty Free shop and carries what she calls a “hydration pack” on board with her - a plastic zip-lock bag packed with face masks and beauty products.
