Great British Bake Off star Helena Garcia has revealed that she had to keep leaving the famous white tent during her time on the show to express milk.
Garcia said she was breastfeeding at the time of filming.
“My best bit [of the show] was making friendships for life,” the Mail Online reported her as saying.
“The worst bit for me was having to run out after every bake to pump milk as I was breastfeeding throughout my time on the series.
Praising the Bake Off production team for being so accommodating, the talented baker added: “I hope that is encouraging for other mothers. The production team were absolutely incredible at facilitating this and I was so grateful.”
Garcia’s time on the Channel 4 programme came to an end during the latest episode, when she was eliminated alongside fellow baker Michelle Eva-Fecci.
Speaking about her exit from the show, Garcia, who became known for her edible gothic creations, said: "I'm actually okay about it. I've had an amazing time."
She added: “I got to halfway and it was a double elimination, so although bittersweet to leave it was really lovely to go with Michelle who was in exactly the same situation.
“We are the best of friends and on the phone all the time.”
Speaking fondly of her time on the show, Garcia praised GBBO presenter Noel Fielding.
“My gothmance with Noel was such a big part of the show for me,” she said, “he was a complete life saver and any time I was judged, I looked at him for reassurance.”
She added: “The reality with the whole goth thing is that I have never seen myself as a goth, although I do have a love for the dark side, witches and Halloween so I guess I am a goth.”
