SAIC has successfully entered the Indian market with the MG Hector its success has caught the attention of other Chinese car-makers, notably Great Wall. Most recently, Great Wall has been putting the finishing touches to its India plans and the Auto Expo is where it will debut.
The Auto Expo is only a few months away and just like Kia and MG last year, this year, the big debut would be of Chinese major, Great Wall Motors along with the showcase of its 'Haval' SUV brand.
Great Wall Motors is a big name and while its name borrows from one of the most recognisable monuments in the world, here the name symbolises the fact that it makes the largest number of SUVs and pickups in China.
Not just in China, as it has its operations all over the world with its Haval SUV brand being the most successful. India will most likely get the Haval brand with its new SUVs being offered here. The newest launch being the H6 SUV.
Just like the Hector, Haval will tune the SUVs for the Indian market and will debut with aggressive pricing, much reminiscent of the smartphone wave that is sweeping the Indian market where price disruption is taking customers from other brands.
The Haval brand is not new and earlier also its SUVs have been testing in India. However as said earlier, now its plans have been firmed up with a massive plant in Gujarat. Its HQ would be in Gurugram and it would start with a Creta/Compass sized SUV before moving at the lower end. Electric cars are also on its radar.
The H6 is even bigger than the Hector and would provide lots of value with features like a fully digital instrument cluster and a massive sunroof amongst other features. So do visit the Auto Expo and check out their cars yourself!
