Hello and welcome to another edition of 'This headline isn't made up but definitely could be'.

In today's episode, we'll be discussing the fact Grimes is auctioning off a segment of her soul as part of a conceptual art piece. Yes, we have lots of questions too.

The singer and new mother welcomed her first child with Elon Musk earlier this month. The couple have been together since 2018, and caused some confusion with their choice of name: X Æ A-12.

But that, er, isn't the only reason everyone's talking about Grimes right now. The 32-year-old is literally selling her soul.

In a forthcoming art show Selling Out, the singer will be presenting drawings, prints, photographs, and conceptual pieces to the world. So far, so standard.

But the title piece of the show is where things get a little more unbelievable. Grimes is offering up a legal document that gives the purchaser a percentage of her soul - something which she told Bloomberg she didn't even want to sell initially.

"I didn’t want anyone to buy it, so I said we should just make it $10 million and then it probably won’t sell," Grimes - real name Claire Boucher - explained. "The deeper we got with it, the more philosophically interesting it became."

She continued, "The idea of fantastical art in the form of legal documents just seems very intriguing to me."

Grimes has since conceded she'll take the "best offer" for the piece of her soul, adding of the pandemic, "With the current state of the world, do you want to put something up for $10million?"

This is Grimes' first official gallery affair, and the online exhibition will be live on Maccarone Los Angeles from May 28th to August 31st.

It's unclear what percentage of her soul Grimes is auctioning off, but only one question remains: is Grimes the ultimate troll, or could a piece of her soul really go to the highest bidder? We've give you a fiver and a Twix for it.
