Animals can be cute, ferocious and mysterious - but they can also be hilarious.

The funniest pictures of wildlife have now been collected and put forward for this year’s Comedy Wildlife Awards.

The competition is a global, online and free to enter photography competition, showcasing the funnier side of Earth’s most amazing wildlife.

In addition to providing some light-hearted relief, the competition also aims to highlight the important message of wildlife conservation.

From shopping responsibly by avoiding plastics and palm oil to restricting water use at home, this year’s contest is aimed at making people think about the animals on the planet - as well as laughing at them.

The winners will be announced on November 13.
