Gurbaksh Chahal honored by DSGMC

Artificial intelligence, IoT, and big data have proved to be the biggest disruptors in the past decade. However, the human element has lead this digital transformation from the front. Gurbaksh Chahal’s deep-rooted passion for information technology and its applications made him a pioneer in the American digital revolution.

The serial entrepreneur received the Leaders of Management Award in 2009, presented by President Donald Trump in recognition of his success as both an accomplished leader and entrepreneur. He was also invited to the White House in 2011 and 2012, by the former POTUS and the first lady, Barack Obama and Michelle Obama.

Recently, Gurbaksh Chahal was felicitated with an award in recognition of his achievements as a renowned Global Entrepreneur by the Delhi Gurdwara Sikh Management Committee (DGSMC). DGSMC presented him the award in New Delhi at an event organized to mark the 550th birth anniversary of the first Sikh Guru – Sri Guru Nanak Dev. The event was attended by defense minister Rajnath Singh, former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, and other dignitaries.

The US-based entrepreneur and philanthropist shared a special moment with the former PM, and later took to Twitter and posted, “Met the man, the myth, the legend PM Manmohan Singh. Honored to meet him and then to my surprise, was asked to go on stage and be congratulated for my career achievements as an entrepreneur! Humbled amazing night!!!”

Gurbaksh Chahal is a notable entrepreneur, author, investor, keynote speaker, and philanthropist. He has spearheaded advancements in the realms of artificial intelligence, data mining, and the Internet of Things with his multiple ventures. His IT incubator Taraa Labs is a platform to guide aspiring entrepreneurs. Gurbaksh’s support to young entrepreneurs is not surprising, considering that he too commenced his journey at a relatively young age.

On his visit to Punjab, he spoke at The Indian School of Business. Gurbaksh shared his vision to make Punjab, the state where he was born, the next IT hub. “Punjab has the capacity to become an IT hub that would surpass the likes of China and Silicon Valley with ease,” shared Gurbaksh.

“The future lies in the hands of today’s youth. It is our responsibility to help kindle these bright minds, so that tomorrow, they may ignite the path that lies ahead,” he added.

In the past, Gurbaksh has spoken about entrepreneurial success and leadership skills at numerous colleges and universities including Columbia University, UC Berkeley, Stanford University, Cambridge University, London School of Economics, Pace University, Ryerson University, CSU Hayward, and Evergreen College.
