Gwyneth Paltrow has revealed that she is still suffering symptoms after having contracting coronavirus last year.
In a post to her lifestyle website Goop, the star revealed that she got COVID-19 "early on", as the pandemic was taking hold.
“It left me with some long-tail fatigue and brain fog,” she added. “In January, I had some tests done that showed really high levels of inflammation in my body.”
Paltrow went on to say that she has been treating her symptoms with a "keto and plant-based" diet, fasting until 11am each day, and avoiding sugar and alcohol.
Paltrow famously starred in Steven Soderbergh's 2011 thriller Contagion as a businesswoman who is revealed to be at the epicentre of a pandemic.
The movie began experiencing renewed popularity at the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic.
After ranking in the late 200s in the iTunes movie charts the same time the previous year, it leapt up to the top 10 in March last year.
Speaking to The Washington Post, the film's writer Scott Z Burns said: “It is sad, and it is frustrating.
"Sad because so many people are dying and getting sick. Frustrating because people still don’t seem to grasp the situation we are now in and how it could have been avoided by properly funding the science around all of this.
“It is also surreal to me that people from all over the world write to me asking how I knew it would involve a bat or how I knew the term 'social distancing'.
"I didn’t have a crystal ball — I had access to great expertise. So, if people find the movie to be accurate, it should give them confidence in the public health experts who are out there right now trying to guide us.”
