Hindi Remake Rights of Drishyam 2 Acquired by Panorama Studios

Kumar Mangat Pathak & Abhishek Pathak’s Panorama Studios International has acquired the Hindi remake rights of the Malayalam hit film Drishyam 2 - The Resumption starring Mohanlal in the lead. The first installment Drishyam was remade in a host of languages including Hindi, and now the successful sequel will follow in its footsteps.

According to a statement, Kumar Mangat Pathak of Panorama Studio International said, "With the huge success of Drishyam 2, the story needs to be told with passion and commitment and we as Producers are committed to that." Producer Antony Perumbavoor also shared his excitement about acquiring the project and said, “We are happy that Panorama Studios International has acquired the rights for Drishyam 2 and I am certain the Production house will justify the film."

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the statement from the makers on social media and wrote, "IT'S OFFICIAL... Kumar Mangat Pathak and Abhishek Pathak [of Panorama Studios International] acquire #Hindi remake rights of #Drishyam2... The important details - including the director - will be announced soon... OFFICIAL STATEMENT..."

The original Drishyam 2 was directed by filmmaker Jeethu Joseph. He believes that the Hindi remake will help the film reach a wider audience, and said that he's glad Drishyam 2 resonated with audiences. Navya Nair, Aarohi Narayan, Unnati, Asha Sharath and Prabhu, who were part of Drishyam, will also be part of the sequel. Actor Pramod Shetty has been roped in as a new addition, while the rest of the cast is yet to be finalised, reported Cinema Express. While the director of the film is yet to be revealed, the cinematography of the film will be handled by Seetharam GSV.
