This week we will see the clash of three Diwali releases- Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh and Bobby Deol starrer Housefull 4, Rajkummar Rao starrer Made In China and Taapsee Pannu and Bhumika Chawla starrer Saand Ki Aankh. Let us see which film will open better at the box office.
After giving a solid hits this uear with Kesari and Housefull 4, Akshay Kumar is back with a franchise which is in safe hands as the previous versions have been a major hits for which the numbers have just manifolded.
Looking from the trailer of Housefull 4 (touched 74 million views), the comedy-drama had generated curiousity among the audience as it is coming at the right time of Diwali festival celebration. The songs have created quite a buzz while the team is travelling places for aggressive promotions. Akshay Kumar had already his highest opening with Mission Mangal (Rs 29.16 crore) this year while Kesari opened with Rs 21.06 crore. The advance booking of Housefull 4 had already started and the current trend is showing that comedy drama is falling behind Mission Mangal but well above Kesari. Though the compensation from Made In China and Saand Ki Aankh will be minimal, as per our analysis, Housefull 4 can get a opening of Rs 21-24 crores and will depend entirely on the word-of-mouth reviews.
Made In China
Rajkummar Rao is making a comeback with yet another slapstick comedy, Made In China, after impressing the audience last year with blockbuster called Stree. Paresh Rawal and Mouni Roy joins him to make it a wholesome entertainment.
While the trailer of Made In China looked promising, the clash with Housefull 4 might hurt its collection at the ticket window. As per analysis, Made In China should open somewhere between Rs 3-4 crore and will completely depend on the word-of-mouth reviews to make impact at the box office.
Saand Ki Aankh
Produced by Anurag Kashyap, Saand Ki Aankh is based on a true story of the oldest sharpshooters Chandro and Prakashi Tomar played by Bhumi Pednekar and Taapsee Pannu. Though the story of Saand Ki Aankh is inspiring, the trailer has received lukewarm response from the audience.
Also starring Prakash Jha in key roles, Saand Ki Aankh is releasing at the wrong time of the festive season plus competition from Housefull 4 and Made In China will be severe. As per our analysis, Saand Ki Aankh should open somewhere between Rs 2-3 crore and will completely depend how the audience likes the content of the biopic drama.
