IIFA 2017 Worst Dressed: Katrina Kaif, Bipasha Basu Disha Patani and Taapsee Pannu made us see red with their tacky green carpet looks

The much anticipated IIFA 2017 witnessed a plethora of unflattering silhouettes, garish looks, and OTT styles. Clearly, Katrina Kaif, Bipasha Basu, and Disha Patani along with Taapsee Pannu, Iulia Vantur and Kriti Sanon locked horns to win the worst dressed title.

The biggest and the snazziest award festivities honouring the finest performances of Indian celluloid, IIFA Awards 2017 transpired over the weekend and witnessed the starry turnout of the who’s who of B-town in New York. Stepping their most fashionable foot forward, the tinsel town denizens dabbled in styles that were classic but also experimental. While some nailed it, others were unsuccessful in wooing the fashion police. Divas like Katrina Kaif, Bipasha Basu, Taapsee Pannu, Huma Qureshi and Neha Dhupia donned outfits that certainly belonged to some faraway place called Tackyland!

The traditional green carpet of IIFA 2017 is a place where fashion takes prominence with an opportunity to court all the attention. These ladies however spruced up an unflattering storm and donned looks that were terribly styled and failed to strike a chord. Here’s how it went down for these ladies.

Katrina Kaif

Katrina Kaif

Katrina Kaif failed to sizzle her usual self on the green carpet of the IIFA Rocks 2017 and was styled by Tanya Ghavri. Katrina Kaif chose an Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla creation featuring a crystal beaded tassel blouse with a red ruffle constructed saree. She accessorized her look with uncut diamond jewelry and topped it off with a bold and bright red lip colour and wavy side-swept hair. Certainly a change of style, Katrina Kaif tried and erred while trying something new.

Kriti Sanon

Kriti

At the IIFA 2017 press conference, Kriti Sanon was styled by Sukriti Grover and wore a fitted Amit Aggarwal vibrant blue dress replete with a dramatically pleated hem and teamed it with tassel earrings a transparent pair of thong heels. With her hair parted in the center and secured with a knot, Kriti Sanon rounded up the look with a subtle makeup of nude lips and defined eyes.

Bipasha Basu

Bipasha Basu

For the IIFA Awards 2017 green carpet Styled by Anisha Jain, Bipasha Basu wore a Gaurav Gupta gown with sneak peeks of her curves and navel through the sheer panels on the gown. Sporting a slick pulled back pony with bright red lips, Bipasha batted her bold eyes for the shutterbugs. Only Bipasha Basu could have pulled off such a risqué style move. But failing miserably, Bipasha’s bold look was an eye sore and we wish the diva had skipped testing the raunchy vibe and stuck to a subtle play of style.

Disha Patani

Disha Patani

For the IIFA Rocks 2017, styled by Tanya Ghavri, Disha Patani wore a customized rose gold mini dress by Zara Umrigar and teamed her look with a pair of metallic gladiator flats. Hair and makeup artist Marce Pedrozo gave Disha a textured hairstyle and a bold makeup of defined eyes and nude pink lips. Ditching the gown and going the unconventional way, Disha Patani and her unconventional green carpet style along with the choice of the flats left us wondering if it was a deliberate move or a last minute fix up?

Iulia Vantur

Iulia Vantur

For IIFA Rocks 2017, Iulia Vantur wore a black and silver pant suit teamed with black open toed sandals and finished out the look with bright red lips and her hair pulled back into a pony. A shimmery and unpleasing green carpet choice, the look is unlike Iulia and fails to evoke a wow.

Taapsee Pannu

Taapsee Pannu

For IIFA Awards 2017, styled by Devki Bhat, Taapsee Pannu went for a shimmery black vibe on the green carpet with a Steven Khalil dress, and rounded up her look with defined curls, strappy sandals, and a subtle makeup. Taapsee Pannu may have clinched the Woman of the Year Award for her role in Pink but her bold move to ditch the gown and opt for an unconventional sheer number failed to shine on the green carpet.

Blindly following trends and skipping the basic elements of aesthetic appeal, comfort, and style, these divas courted all the brickbats for their least stunning looks. Do let us know your opinions and VOTE NOW!
