1ST day of the third Test match between India and Australia came to an end with Australia losing 2 wickets in 166 runs. Half of the day got delayed due to the rain in Sydney; while Australia played total 54 overs throughout the day.

Pucovski and Labuschagne scored 62 and 67 runs respectively while Smith remained not-out with Labuschagne scoring 35 runs. Siraj and Saini took 1 wicket each while Warner couldn’t make his comeback a memorable one when he got out in the 4th over of the inning.

India lost the control over the bowling and inning in the mid-session of the day when Pucovski and Labuschagne put 100 runs for Australia on board. Both the batsmen started playing attacking game while Navdeep Saini, Siraj and Ashwin spare more than expected runs in middle overs.

On the day 2 India would like to trap Australia’s star batsmen Smith and Labuschagne as early as possible; while both of them aim to score big runs to be in the driving seat throughout the match. Tomorrow’s day will be important for both the teams as if India wraps Australia early they have to struggle later on. If Australia go for big total then India will have to chase it down later and it will be slight difficult against one of the best bowling department in Tests.

Steven Smith who was not in the great form in last two Test matches would like to show his masterclass in the coming day. He showed a good intent today and would continue tomorrow. Smith has good records on Sydney Ground also he scored two centuries on the same tour in ODI series earlier.
