Ajinkya Rahane; India’s stand in captain in Test cricket format has some unique records while leading the team in international cricket over the years when needed. Rahane is captaining Team India’s test squad in Australia from last two games in Border-Gavaskar trophy due to Virat Kohli’s Parental leave.

Ajinkya Rahane is India’s 33rd Test captain after Virat Kohli; he has led India in 3 tests till now all the three against Australia and in Australia. Also he has led India in 3 ODIs too. He has been unbeaten in all these 6 matches till the date. He is the only Indian captain to have a 100% win record in two different formats. In both ODIs and Tests, Rahane has won all his matches as captain.

Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2020-2021 is in the last hour now; featuring the series decider match starting from Friday, 15 January at Gaba International Stadium, Brisbane. The four-match series currently stands at 1-1, with Australia winning the first at Adelaide and India second at Melbourne. The Ajinkya Rahane-led Indian side once again made a strong comeback in the third Test to register a sensational draw at Sydney.

Rahane’s captaincy has been praised by cricket circles and critics from the last two matches in this tour. It would be interesting to watch if Rahane continues his 100% win record in the toughest format of the cricket. For doing so he has to go from difficult conditions as Indian playing XI is not that strong right now due to injury conflict moving around key players Bumrah, Jadeja, Pant and Umesh Yadav, Shami and KL Rahul earlier.

Also Australia’s record at Gaba Stadium has been mesmerizing with winning 5 out of 6 Tests till the date. But fans would love to watch the last Test match of the dominating series ever.
