India Vs Australia 3rd Test: Australia Conclude Third Session In Euphoria

In the 3rd Test match of India tour of Australia, the hosts won the toss and chose to bat against the Indian team at the Sydney Cricket Ground. At stumps day 1, third session, after 55 overs, Australia 166/2, Marnus Labuschagne (67*), Will Pucovski (62), Steve Smith (31*), Navdeep Saini (1/32). The third session of the day belonged to the Aussies as they scored 73 runs in 24 overs with losing a wicket.

Will Pucovski and Marnus Labuschagne went out to bat in the third innings for the Aussies with a comfortable score on the board at the loss of just one wicket. Pucovski started counter-attacking the Indian bowlers before he was struck on the pads right in front of the stumps on an in-swinger delivery by the debutant Navdeep Saini. The Australian opener’s departure brought Steve Smith to the crease. Without wasting much time, Smith started driving and stepping out of the crease. The right-handed batsman Labuschagne completed his eighth half-century when he drove the ball on the rise to the long-on boundary.

Smith and Labuschagne started adding some quick runs on the board and conjured 60 runs for the third wicket partnership. The Aussies finished the last session of the day on a higher note with Smith and Labuschagne robust at the crease. In the third session of the day, 24 overs were bowled, 74 runs were scored at the loss of one wicket at 3.04 runs per over.
