India Vs Australia Second Test: Bumrah, Ashwin Put India In Driver’s Seat, Aussies Lose Two More Wickets In Second Session

In the second Test match of India tour of Australia, the Aussies won the toss and chose to bat in the second match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. After 52 overs, Second Session Australia 136/5, Marnus Labuschagne (48), Travis Head (38), Jasprit Bumrah 2/24.The second session was shared between the two teams as 71 runs were scored by the Aussies while the Indians pocketed two wickets.

Labuschagne and Head had a constructive start to their second innings as the two batsmen built an 84 runs partnership before the latter was dismissed on Bumrah’s bowling when the skipper Ajinkya Rahane took a sharp catch at gully. The well-set Labuschagne was caught at backward square leg by Shubhman Gill when he dived low in front to grab a spectacular catch. It was a trap set for Steve Smith’s protege, Mohammed Siraj’s delivery was going down the leg but Gill did a fantastic job in the field which helped the pacer register his maiden wicket in Test cricket.

Wade and Labuschagne’s wicket brought Cameron Green and Tim Paine on the crease ahead of the tea break. In the second session, 71 runs were scored with the loss of two wickets at a run rate of 2.84.
