India Vs Australia Second Test Day 2: Rahane Ton Powers India To An 82-Run Lead

In the second Test match of India tour of Australia, the Aussies won the toss and chose to bat. After 91.3 overs, second Innings, India 275/5, Ajinkya Rahane (104*), Ravindra Jadeja (40*), Shubman Gill (45), Mitchell Starc (2/61). The third session of the day completely belonged to India, the visitors scored 88 runs in 28 overs without losing a single wicket at the run rate of 3.14. Two out of three sessions of the day belonged to the Indian team. The visitors are ahead of Australia by 82 runs at the end of day 2.

Ajinkya Rahane and Ravindra Jadeja commenced the innings on a positive note as the two batsmen went on to build a 104 – run partnership for the sixth wicket. Australia’s front line bowlers Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood couldn’t manage to take a single wicket in the third session. The Aussie’s fielding was the major concern in today’s play as the Indian skipper was dropped twice on Starc’s bowling.

The second day of the Test match belonged to the visitors after a shaky start to the first session, the skipper played throughout the day and made sure that his team is in a commanding position at the end of day 2. In the third session, 88 runs were scored at 3.14 runs per over.
