Indian Super League 2020-21: NorthEast United FC To Face The Struggling Odisha FC

In the 37th match of the Indian Super League, NorthEast United FC to face Odisha FC at the GMC Stadium in Bambolim at 7:30 PM IST. NorthEast United FC has acquired the number four spot with 10 points while Odisha FC has occupied the last spot with just one point.

NorthEast United had seven games out of which they won two games, lost once and had a draw in four matches. Odisha on the other hand had six games out of which they lost five, drew once and are yet to win a match.
Odisha FC’s ISL 2020-21 campaign started with a 0-1 loss against Hyderabad FC and then had a 2-2 draw against Jamshedpur FC. Later they lost four matches in a row against ATK Mohun Bagan, Mumbai City, Bengaluru FC and FC Goa. Odisha has conceded nine goals while scored only three so far in the season.

NorthEast United commenced their campaign with a 1-0 victory against the table-toppers Mumbai City FC. They had a draw against FC Goa and Kerala Blasters before they managed to win against SC East Bengal. They later had a stalemate against Chennaiyin FC and Bengaluru FC before facing their first defeat against Jamshedpur FC.

In the head-to-head competition between the two teams, the two teams have their scores settled as they faced each other twice and have recorded a victory each. In the last fixture between the two teams, Odisha FC scored a 2-1 victory against NorthEast United. Manuel Onwu and Martin Perez Guedes scored for Odisha.

Kamaljit Singh went through a concussion against Mumbai City FC and is yet to recover fully. Odisha’s head coach Stuart Baxter announced in the pre-match press conference that Marcelinho hasn’t recovered fully. The Bhubaneshwar based side could miss the services of Diawandou Diagne due to an injury. Meanwhile NorthEast United has a fully-fit squad for the upcoming game.
