Tell us about yourself and your area of work. What inspired you to create this career for yourself?

I’m originally from Bulgaria and I have been practicing Orthodontics in Chicagoland for the last 5 years. Both my mother and older sister are dentists so it was natural for me to follow that career path. During my childhood and early adulthood I went through a comprehensive orthodontic treatment and eventually I knew Orthodontics was my true calling.
During my days of private practice, I am extremely grateful to have had the opportunity to travel around the globe, which led me to discovering another passion: exploring beautiful destinations and other cultures. I love spending time outdoors and capturing images, and moments on secluded beaches, mountains, and dramatic coastlines. I now share my travel adventures as well as healthy smile advice on my lifestyle blog, Bubbly Moments and on Instagram @bubbly.moments.

What are some of the most interesting or exciting projects you are working on now?

I am currently working on launching video content and expanding my YouTube channel. I’m also passionate about finance, investing, real estate, and saving for retirement. Those are some of the new topics I will be sharing about on my blog and YouTube in the future. I continue learning new Orthodontic techniques every day and plan to implement more digital technology in my practice.

Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them to thrive and not “burn out”?

I have found the following motivational quote to certainly help with burnout: “When something good happens, travel to celebrate. If something bad happens, travel to forget it. If nothing happens, travel to make something happen.” I would also recommend finding a fun hobby, a job with a purpose, and having a career strategy. That will bring more meaning and happiness to your life.

You are a person of great influence. If you could start a movement that would bring the most amount of good to the most amount of people, what would that be? You never know what your idea can trigger.

If I could start a movement that would bring the most amount of good for the most amount of people, it would focus on access to education for every child. Giving more learning opportunities in early childhood and preparing every child around the world with the knowledge and skills needed to thrive. That will help escaping a life of poverty and getting a more fulfilling job as an adult. Further working to teach kindness, empathy, and respect for other human beings, animals, and our planet.

Can you please give us your favorite “Life Lesson Quote”? Can you share how that was relevant to you in your life?

“Take chances, make mistakes. That’s how you grow. Pain nourishes your courage. You have to fail in order to practice being brave.” ―Mary Tyler Moore
I’m a strong believer in seeing any experience in a positive light, no matter how difficult it might have seemed at the time. Every situation will teach you something valuable, garner a wealth of lessons, and build up aspects of your personality. I have always tried to use every opportunity to learn something new and kept an open mind.

None of us are able to achieve success without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story about that?

I attribute a part of my success to my family. My parents and grandparents are definitely the ones who helped me the most to get where I am today. Growing up, they always trusted my decisions and motivated me to stay on track, to continue my education and set goals. My mom is one of my biggest supporters and a constant believer in whatever I do in life. She always goes out of her way to make sure I have everything that I need. I can always count on her! I just gave birth to a baby boy and my mom is flying from Bulgaria to Chicago next week to help out for the next 3 months.
