Late actor Irrfan Khan’s son Babil Khan has come out in support of filmmaker Anurag Kashyap. The filmmaker was accused of sexual misconduct by actress Payal Ghosh. While the actress claimed that the filmmaker forced himself on her Anurag Kashyap's lawyer rubbished all the allegations made by the actress, and shared a statement about the same. Now following the filmmaker’s ex-wives Aarti Bajaj and Kalki Koechlin, and industry colleagues, Irrfan Khan’s son has also joined the league of all those who have come out in support of Anurag Kashyap.
In his Instagram post Babil shared images of notes penned down by him, on how the #MeToo campaign which was introduced to help the victims of sexual assaults to get justice has been used to malign someone’s image. He also wrote that this act of maligning someone’s name under this movement will definitely leave the ones hoping for justice via this movement in the dark and forever in pain. #MeToo campaign had got many actresses opening up about being harassed by certain people especially in the entertainment business.
The late actor’s son in his caption mentioned that though he knows he would be hated for it, he will take this stand going by his judgment and would take responsibility for his words, should he be proven wrong. Babil Khan’s Instagram post’s caption read, “Chin up, Anurag sir. I know you all are gonna hate me for this but I’ve got to stand up when something feels wrong. A lot of people in the comments are asking ‘What if the girl is right?’ I am trusting my judgement, I will take responsibility for my words if I’m wrong.”
