ISL 2020-21: Chennaiyin FC, Hyderabad FC In Search Of 3 Crucial Points

Chennaiyin FC to play Hyderabad FC for the Indian Super League fixture at GMC Stadium in Bambolim, Goa on Monday at 10:30 PM IST. Chennaiyin FC has acquired the seventh spot with 10 points while Hyderabad FC has occupied the eighth spot with 9 points.

Chennaiyin FC played eight matches out of which they won and lost two games each while they had four draws. Hyderabad FC also had eight games, they were victorious on two occasions, lost and drew three times each.

Chennaiyin FC’s last two games against ATK Mohun Bagan and SC East Bengal have been difficult. The Marina Machans were the better team but still managed to pocket just one point.

Hyderabad FC had a good start to their season, they haven’t been up to the mark in their last three games. They faced a defeat in each of the fixtures. The Nizam’s last match was against FC Goa, they had complete control over the match as they took a lead in the 58th minute of the match. Ishan Pandita equalized late in the game, Igor Angulo scored the winner in stoppage time to confirm Hyderabad’s third straight defeat of the season.

In the head-to-head competition between the two teams, Chennaiyin clearly has the upper hand as they beat Hyderabad in both the games they played last season. The first match between the two teams took place at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Chennai, three goals were scored in second-half stoppage time. Goals from Andre Schembri and Nerijus Valskis confirmed Chennaiyin’s victory.

Rafael Crivellaro has been ruled out of the game after picking up an injury during the clash with ATK Mohun Bagan. Isma is likely to return for Chennai after missing the last four games.

Hyderabad FC to miss the services of Liston Colaco and Nikhil Poojary, both of them are injured. Lluis Sastre came as a second-half substitute in the last game while Joel Chianese was present in the first half. The two players could be starting the game in the upcoming fixture.
