ISL 2020-21: Mumbai City FC, Kerala Blasters Clash At GMC Stadium

Mumbai City FC to play Kerala Blasters at the Goa Medical College Ground in Bambolim, on Saturday for the ISL game at 7:30 PM IST. Mumbai City FC has acquired the second spot with 16 points while Kerala Blasters have occupied the ninth position with six points.

Mumbai City FC played seven games out of which they won five, lost and drew once each while Kerala Blasters also had seven matches, they lost and drew thrice each while managed to win one game.

Mumbai City FC is having a good season so far and has managed to live up to the expectations. They have been robust in the defence which is supported by their superior midfield and striking departments.

Kerala Blasters FC was on a winless streak until they registered a 2-0 victory against Hyderabad FC. Kerala are yet to find their best starting line-up and hasn’t been able to make the best out of their resources.

In the head-to-head competition between the two teams, Mumbai City FC has the upper hand as they beat Kerala Blasters four times on 12 occasions in the last 6 ISL seasons. While Kerala Blasters have won two games and six games have ended in a draw. The last encounter between the two teams ended in a 1-1 draw at the Andheri Sports Complex in Mumbai.

Mumbai City FC didn’t stick to the same game plan and the same roster throughout the league as Sergio Lobera did with FC Goa during his tenure. Players like Hugo Boumous and Bartholomew Ogbeche have been rested in a few games to maintain the match fitness.

Gary Hooper, Costa Nhanmoinesu and Bakary Kone were dropped from Kerala Blaster’s team in their previous game against Hyderabad FC. Nhamoinesu is likely to replace Sandeep Singh in the defence in the upcoming game. Jordan Murray is likely to maintain his place in the starting line-up.
