Omung Kumar's upcoming film PM Narendra Modi, the biopic on India's Prime Minister has come under fire from prominent lyricists. The film stars Vivek Oberoi in the lead role and ever since the film was announced, it has been at the centre of several controversies. After Javed Akhtar expressed his shock at finding his name under 'lyrics' on the poster, Sameer Anjaan, whose name is there as well, said that he had not written any songs.
Sameer wrote, "I am surprised to see my name in the film PM Narendra Modi. I haven't written any song in a film like this."

Akhtar had posted on Twitter yesterday, "Am shocked to find my name on the poster of this film. Have not written any songs for it!"

Apart from Javed Akhtar, the poster has the names of Prasoon Joshi, Sameer, Abhendra Kumar Upadhyay, Sardaraa, Parry G and Lavraj.
Vivek Oberoi will be playing the role of PM Narendra Modi. The trailer of the biopic was released online late on March 20. Directed by Omung Kumar, the film's trailer went viral on social media soon after it was unveiled.
Director Omung Kumar said at the trailer launch event, "Modiji's struggle is an incredible true story."
On Friday, the DMK sought a ban on the film PM Narendra Modi biopic till the Lok Sabha elections conclude.
The film, produced by Sandip Ssingh, Suresh Oberoi and Anand Pandit, stirred up controversy as its release date was shifted April 5, from the 12th. At the trailer launch event on March 20, when Oberoi was asked about the date changes, he said, "Main sirf ek hi baat bolna chahunga. Modi hai toh mumkin hai."
