Reports that Karan Johar’s most ambitious project Takht featuring a star-studded cast which includes Kareena Kapoor Khan, Anil Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Vicky Kaushal Alia Bhatt Janhvi Kapoor and Bhumi Pednekar, has been shelved due to a COVID-induced financial crunch, are untrue.

When I contacted Karan he categorically stated, “Takht is not shelved. It’s just delayed.”

With shootings coming to a halt in 2020, Karan’s post-pandemic pending projects must be prioritized according to the work remaining on the individual films. Karan Johar’s Jugg Jugg Jiyo, starring Varun Dhawan Kiaran Advani, Neetu Kapoor and Anil Kapoor, which was on the verge of completion has been completed on priority. This will be followed by the long-delayed Bhahmastra, starring Amitabh Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, and Vijay Deverakonda’s Hindi debut Liger.
