A close camaraderie between Bollywood exes is not an uncommon phenomenon. There have been instances wherein we have seen two celeb ex-wives going for shopping together or exchanging pleasantries, while some don’t feel the need to maintain any kind of relationships, letting bygones be bygones. And we guess Saif Ali Khan’s ex-wife, Amrita Singh and current wife, Kareena Kapoor Khan fall in the latter category.
While Amrita and Kareena have always maintained ‘live and let live’ stance, with both of them being happy in their respective lives, Kareena has a great bond with Amrita’s children, Sara Ali Khan and Ibrahim Khan. In fact, the Simmba actress shared with us multiple accounts about Amrita, Kareena and Saif. Also, do you know, it was Amrita who had dressed Sara and Ibrahim for her ex-husband, Saif’s wedding? While we will share all the details with you later, we have an interesting update for you about Saif’s ex and current wife, Amrita and Kareena.
On Karan Johar’s Koffee With Karan season 6 final episode, two leading actresses, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Priyanka Chopra ennobled the Koffee seat. While this piece is one of the many interesting revelations that came out from both the actresses, Kareena shared something about Amrita Singh which surprised (and shocked) many.
When Karan Johar asked Kareena, “You keep the balance between Amrita as well? Do you kind of talk to each other at all?” Kareena answered, “No, but I have utmost respect and regard for her. We've never met.” To this Karan surprisingly asked, “You've never met?” And Bebo once again replied along with the reason, “No. I met Saif many years after he got divorced. So, it was not on anyone's time. He was clearly single.” Well, that suffices all!
In an interview with Mumbai Mirror, Kareena had shared about being a ‘second mother’ to Sara and Ibrahim, “I have always said this to Saif, Sara and Ibrahim that I can only be their friend, I can never be their mother because they already have an amazing mother who’s brought them up spectacularly. I’m meant to be their friend. I love them dearly and whenever I am wanted or my advice needed, I’m there for both at any point in their life.”
Sara too, opened up about her relationship with Kareena in Koffee With Karan season 6. Sharing about the same, the Pataudi princess stated, “You know everybody has been very clear with me. It has never been confusing. Kareena herself was saying and she still says that 'You have a mother and you have a great mother at that. What I want is for us to be able to be friends.' My father also never said, 'This is your second mother' or made it anyway uncomfortable.”
A few years back, a source had shared with a leading daily that a furious Amrita did not like the way Sara dressed herself, and the inspiration for doing the same was coming from Bebo. The source had stated, "Amrita did not like Sara flaunting her midriff in the short top. The actress usually sports long flowing kurtas and churidar and likes Sara also to dress up in the same way (they even posed together wearing similar outfits for a magazine cover). If you see the youngster's earlier pictures at award shows and events, you will find her dressed in either lehengas and tops or flowing kurtas covered from top to toe. She feels that Sara is now getting overly influenced by her stepmom Bebo, while the fact is she wants to bring her daughter up the way she wants to."
When these statements were brought under Amrita’s notice, she immediately refuted all such rumours and retorted, “I have a problem with the way my daughter dresses? And I resent Sara’s rapport with Kareena? Absolutely untrue! I don’t have any problem with Sara and Kareena’s equation at all. I totally approved of Sara’s attire for Kareena’s party.” She had further continued, “I’m being hauled over the coals for disapproving of Sara’s outfit for the party. Let me tell you, I was the one who put together the entire wardrobe for my daughter that evening. I also dressed up both my kids, Sara and Ibrahim, for Saif’s wedding with Kareena.”
Don’t you think, Kareena and Amrita handle their relationship with utmost sensibility and poise? Let us know as to what you feel about the same.
