Kartik Aaryan aims to score a hat-trick with Pati Patni Aur Woh

If there is one success story which has inspired thousands of youngsters, coming from a non-film background and wanting to make it big in the Hindi film industry, it has to be that of Kartik Aaryan. The actor, who started out with ‘Pyaar Ka Punchnama’ (2011), slogged for several years and slowly and steadily built up his brand as a bankable actor with successes like ‘Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2’ (2015), ‘Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety’ (2018) and ‘Luka Chuppi’ (2019), has set a good example as far as a rank outsider making it big in the industry is concerned.

The journey has not been easy though. His first film was a moderate success and gained cult success with repeated viewings on television and home video. Then, there were films like ‘Akaash Vani’ (2013), ‘Kaanchi: The Unbreakable’ (2013) and ‘Guest Iin London’ (2017) which did no good to his career. ‘Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety’ was actually that film which signified his arrival on the Bollywood A-list scene in a big way! The huge success of the film made A-list filmmakers take notice of him and approach him with roles in their films.

At the moment, the actor has a terrific line-up of films; while ‘Pati Patni Aur Woh’ releases on December 6, Imtiaz Ali’s yet untitled sequel-in-spirit to ‘Love Aaj Kal’ (2009), ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’ and ‘Dostana 2’ will hit the screens next year.

It is interesting to note that Kartik has delivered two big hits (‘Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety’ and ‘Luka Chuppi’) in a row and if ‘Pati Patni Aur Woh’ turns out to be a success, it will be his third success in a row. While the three aforementioned films are quite different from each other in terms of storyline, all of them are romantic comedies. ‘Pati Patni Aur Woh’ is carrying a good buzz and there is a very good chance of it succeeding it at the box-office. Now, if that indeed happens it will be an enviable position to be in as very few actors, in the recent times, have given three hits in a row!
