Killing Eve creators have announced that the fourth season of the hit BBC drama due to air in 2022 will be the last.

Fans have been left devastated after creators announced the fourth season in a dramatic short 18-second clip, with the caption "Anything worth having is worth the wait. #KillingEve."

In the clip we see the infamous scene from the end of last season where Eve and Villanelle are stood on either side of the bridge looking longingly towards one another. Whilst the well-known theme tune plays, we see the message: "Oh, one more thing. The final season."

Filming for the eight-episode final season will take place in summer of this year after being postponed because of the coronavirus pandemic, with the release of the final season scheduled for 2022.

Created by Fleabag writer and actress, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, BBC America's sly thriller has unravelled the twisted tale of how British intelligence agent Eve Polastri (Sandra Oh) became obsessed with gifted Russian assassin Villanelle (Jodie Comer) — and vice versa.
