  • Kim Cattrall appeared to respond to her absence from the Sex and the City reboot by liking a tweet.

  • The actress won't be reprising her role as legendary Samantha Jones.

When a long-anticipated Sex and the City reboot was confirmed this week, fans couldn't help but let out a huge squeal. However, the show, which is returning more than 20 years after making its debut, won't feature Samantha.

Instead, the limited series will see cast members Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon returning as Carrie, Charlotte and Miranda, respectively, but without Kim Cattrall.

And what's Kim had to say on it? Well, the 64-year-old did subtly respond by liking a tweet discussing her lack of involvement. It read, "I absolutely love Sex and the City and whilst I am saddened that Samantha will not return, I applaud doing what is best for you and think this is great example of putting yourself first. Well done."

It's well known that she and SJP did not get on, plus, while Parker has always been vocal about wanting to do another series or film, Cattrall has made it repeatedly clear that she is done with SATC.

"[Samantha] is a great part. I played it past the finish line and then some, and I loved it. And another actress should play it," she said in 2017. "Maybe they could make it an African-American Samantha Jones, or a Hispanic Samantha Jones."

Meanwhile, Parker recently opened up on her co-star's absence from the upcoming series by responding to a comment on Instagram. In the comment, a fan suggested that the pair "disliked each other".

Replying to the message, SJP wrote, "No. I don't dislike her. I've never said that. Never would. Samantha isn't part of this story. But she will always be part of us. No matter where we are or what we do."

The 55-year-old actress confirmed the exciting news this week, posting a teaser of the upcoming series alongside the caption, "I couldn’t help but wonder... where are they now? X, SJ. @HBOMax @JustLikeThatMax #AndJustLikeThat #SATCNextChapter."

The show will reportedly return as a limited series for streaming service HBO Max, Page Six reports.

And while we may miss Samantha, we can't wait to see what's in store for the remaining three.
