On August 29, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the ‘Fit India Movement’ on National Sports Day to inspire India to reach a healthier future.
"“Fitness has always been an integral part of our culture. But there is indifference towards fitness issues now. A few decades back, a normal person would walk 8-10km in a day, do cycling or run.”" - PM Modi
To show support for the movement, many athletes and celebrities from Karan Johar to Geeta Phogat took to twitter to laud PM Modi and his initiative.
