Kshitija Gosavi

Our audience is keen about reading stories of entrepreneurs creating a difference in the world. Your profile speaks volumes of the outstanding work you have done. What inspired you to become a blogger/ influencer?

So eventually till my 10th I was finding my feet in fashion and learning to carry yourself. As my mom would shop for me and whatever she got for me I used to wear that comfortably. I was oblivious about fashion but as soon as I got into my college i.e Thakur College of science and commerce I was really excited to witness this new world of adulthood. Untill 10th I was this shy girl wearing this weird glasses with oily hair for 6 days in a week including all the festivals. So eventually when I got into my college it really changed my life i’ll tell you why, it was because when i saw my seniors walking around wearing fashionable clothes and carrying them with such awe. Seeing my seniors prepare for their fashion shows and cultural activities, it really helped me to firstly boost my confidence level and secondly I stepped in the right direction of the fashion world. In my 12th Std I designed few clothes for an intercollegiate fashion show using best out of waste material and we won the best costume there and at the same time I also started anchoring in my college. Later, I realised the sense of fashion only because I was not familiar with my surroundings. I started my blogging in 2017 because I wanted to share my styling tips with others. Not just fashion I write about travel, beauty and lifestyle as well and touch wood it’s going great.

What kind of content do you create? How did you find inspiration in fashion?

I feel my content is 100% based on things I genuinely feel and relatable to the audience. I mostly create content on fashion, beauty, travel and lifestyle. My content is heavily based on minimal expenditure and maximum benefits also when I write about travel it is mostly about places one can visit in minimum expenditure.“Spend less, travel more”. Also about beauty I usually write about home remedies which are easily available at home. This is the type of content I like to curate. “Don’t be into trends. Don’t make fashion own you, but you decide what you are, what you want to express by the way you dress and the way to live.” —Gianni Versace I’m really inspired by this quote and my fashion Mantra is – “Reduce, Reuse and Recycle“ . Reduce your expenditure on unnecessarily expensive clothes it’s because of the brand the price is increased. One can easily find amazing clothes in Local Markets and on online shopping sites. Price range of a same floral dress will be different in the branded store and at a local store same material, same quality but since it is branded it is expensive. Reuse – you can always style your same old clothes in 100 different ways, every piece of clothing is important because it eventually helps in creating a new outfit. Recycle – We mostly throw the clothes that we don’t fit in. Stop right there, you can always recycle your clothes. A dress can become a top, a jeans can become a skirt. There is just a little technique to it.

When did your first collaboration happen? How has your business grown since then?

My first Collaboration happened in 2017 just 2 months after I commenced blogging. It was barter basis but the deal was I had to first purchase the products and write about them and post it on my Social media handle and if they like my Content they will pay the amount back I desperately wanted this Collaboration as it was my first so i did this and surprisingly they loved my work and offered me a paid collaboration. I have worked with more than 300 + brands in a span of 2 years but my best collaboration which changed my blogging career was with My favourite brand “Olivia Cosmetics“. I started off as a blogger with them and now I represent their brand in different colleges, Business Events and everywhere also they pay me really well. Started my career with Barter and Now I earn real well from blogging. Hardwork and creativity leads to a better future.

In these times when every other person claims himself to be an influencer/ blogger, how do you keep up with the growing competition on the platform especially when you have difficult algorithms to beat?

I really don’t waste my time behind others I focus on my work, on my growth. Well if you take the right path increasing followers will be difficult but it will be genuine your engagement will be real. I find it a waste of money on purchasing followers when you can use that money to create genuine Instagram promotion, which will increase your reach to real users yes it will take time but time is worth it, one should be truthful and loyal towards its work. We all face problems because of algorithms it’s always changing it affects on the reach and visibility but I post regularly with that I also promote post through Instagram, this is my way of dealing with difficult algorithms through authentic Instagram promotion I gain new and genuine followers also our bloggers community is really strong we help each other we promote each other’s work that’s how you grow!

How do you keep yourself away from negativity? What motivates you to keep creating more?

Internet is a place where you will be criticized, no matter what you do because this is the place where people can give their unwanted opinions and when you have a public account get ready to face all sorts of criticism. Sometimes the criticism is good you learn something out of it but sometimes it’s unnecessary and it’s negative for your mind. I only take constructive criticism and ignore the rest. Because I’ll rather use my time in doing something productive than wasting my time dealing with negative comments. My motivation comes from my audience when they appreciate my work. Appreciation helps alot, it is not just boost your confidence and also motivates you to try different and unique things.

Who is your role model? Any favourite Instagrammer/ blogger?

My role model is GiGi hadid , Rihanna also Deepika Padukone, I just love the way they carry themself and these ladies are real fashion icon. I really follow them and even try to style my clothes according to their outfits I know it is impossible but you can always “TRY” and my favourite bloggers have to be Santoshi Shetty, Komal Pandey and Ashna Shroff, it’s because of these ladies that today I am able to explore the world of blogging they have started it, they have inspired me.

What is your dream about taking your blogging journey to the next level? How do you plan to grow next?

My work ethics and values are going to be same, the pace that I’m currently working on is great but because I have college I’m not able to give my 100% attention towards my blogging it is because now I’m multitasking but from next year onwards it’s going to be my full time profession I will be only focusing on this targeting luxury brands and creating more fun content for my audience trying to gain more visibility and trying different concepts.

What advice would you like to give to the coming of age bloggers/ influencers?

My advice to budding blogger will be to not purchase followers as it’s not the right way to reach out to the audience. The numbers have to be authentic like your content. You need genuine people to see your work and appreciate your efforts. Yes it will take time but it will give you internal happiness. One has to have professionalism, ethics and values. It is the key to a successful future.
