Los Angeles, Feb 23 (PTI) Veteran TV producer Norman Lear has set two projects in development at the Amazon-owned free streaming service IMDb TV, including comedy “Clean Slate” with Laverne Cox and George Wallace.

The streamer is working with Lear’s Act III Productions and Sony Pictures Television, where the writer-producer is under an overall deal, on “Clean Slate” and “Loteria”.

According to Variety, both the projects are original ideas and focus on a family navigating unique challenges to their relationships.

“Clean Slate” is about car wash owner Henry (Wallace), whose estranged child comes home to Alabama after 17 years. But he must do some soul searching as he comes to terms with the fact that his adult child is a trans woman, Desiree (Cox).

Dan Ewen serves as executive producer and showrunner on the half-hour comedy, while Cox also executive produces.

Cox and Wallace have co-written the story with Ewen.

Meanwhile, “Lotería” centres on two estranged teen siblings who aim to reunite their family by going on a quest across Mexico to find 16 magical Lotería cards.

Felipe Vargas has penned the pilot script and co-executive produces along with Alberto Belli and Juan Pablo Reyes.

Under its first-look overall deal with Sony Pictures TV, Act III is also producing an animated take on “Good Times,” along with Steph Curry’s banner and Seth MacFarlane, for Netflix. PTI SHD SHD
