Known for their entertaining and emotional storylines, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada movies have provided ample fodder for Hindi film narratives, for as long as one can remember.In the last 10 years, data from film trade websites shows that Bollywood has remade 38 south Indian films, 18 of which have been hits.

“Films have to be commercially viable and it always makes sense to remake a film that is a proven hit,” said independent trade analyst Sreedhar Pillai. “Plus, all the movies that have been remade have had universal content and emotions that could work on a pan-India scale.”Film experts said south Indian cinema has perfected the art of making commercially viable mainstream entertainers with drama and emotions, a formula Bollywood is yet to get right. Most south Indian language films, especially those in Tamil and Telugu, know how to appeal to the lowest common denominator without losing sense of the plot.

2018 Telegu action-drama film ‘RX 100’ is the upcoming Bollywood movies in the remake, and the lead actors will be Tara Sutaria opposite debutante Ahan Shetty. The plot contains a love story with intense action. The Bollywood remake will be directed by Milan Luthria and producer Sajid Nadiadwala.
Prasthanam is a upcoming Indian Hindi-language political action film and remake of Telugu film of the same name directed by Deva Katta. The film is produced by Manyata Dutt, and Sanjay Dutt under her own banner Sanjay S Dutt Productions. The film stars ensemble cast of Sanjay Dutt, Manisha Koirala, Jackie Shroff, Chunky Pandey, Ali Fazal, Satyajeet Dubey, and Amyra Dastur.
The 2016 Tamil comedy-drama film was also a remake of 2014 Malayalam film of the same title, is said to be again remade in Bollywood. There are news that actor Sushant Singh Rajput has shown his interest in doing this film.
Laxmmi Bomb is an upcoming Indian Hindi-language comedy horror film produced by Shabina Khan and Tusshar Kapoor, written and directed by Raghava Lawrence. The film a Hindi remake of the 2011 Tamil film Muni 2: Kanchana, features Akshay Kumar and Kiara Advani in the lead roles.
Bachchan Pandey Thala Ajit’s Veeram remake: The poster of Akshay Kumar starrer Bachchan Pandey has created quite a buzz. It has now been revealed Akshay’s film will be an official remake of a Thala Ajith blockbuster.
John Abraham will be starring in the Hindi remake of Vedalam. Released in 2015, the Tamil action-drama featured Ajith Kumar as a taxi driver in Kolkata who takes on the criminal underworld.
Superstar Vijay Deverakonda’s latest film Dear Comrade which released on July 26 will be remade in Hindi by Bollywood director producer, Karan Johar. Karan Johar has paid a whopping Rs 6 crore to buy the Hindi remake rights of Dear Comrade.
