‘Made in China’ Trailer: Rajkummar Shines in This Quirky Comedy

Rajkummar Rao is back with a quirky comedy, Made in China. The makers of the film has finally dropped the trailer.

The video opens with Paresh Rawal telling Raghu (Rajkummar) that he will become a star entrepreneur one day. Rawal’s word of advice, “The need of a customer is the lock and when to discover the key, there’s no stopping you.” Thus begins Raghu’s journey. He goes to China, where he meets a sexologist (Boman Irani). They start a business to “satisfy” desi customers.

While it does feel that sex-related themes have become a favourite of filmmakers, the trailer does leave us in splits. Rajkummar Rao owns the character of Raghu with ease. Also, we are all looking forward to Gajraj Rao, who never fails to impress us.

A few days back, the makers released a motion poster which begins with Rajkummar, dressed like a middle class Indian in a brown pant-suit. The poster is fun and quirky and definitely piques curiosity. Rajkummar falls into a jar that says ‘Made in China.’ After that, he escapes the jar and falls into a bowl. Which is when we get a glimpse of the other actors in the film, namely, Mouni Roy, Boman Irani, Paresh Rawal and Gajraj Rao. The film will release on Diwali 2019.

Made in China is directed by Mikhil Musale and presented by Dinesh Vijan under the banner of Maddock Films. The film revolves around Rajkummar Rao’s character, a Gujarati businessman and Mouni Roy, who plays his feisty wife. It will mark the Bollywood debut of Gujarati director Mikhil Musale, whose 2016 thriller-drama Wrong Side Raju bagged the National Award for Best Feature Film in Gujarati.
