After Riteish Deshmukh and Sidharth Malhotra starrer Marjaavaan opened well on its first day, the masala entertainment showed slight growth on Saturday.
Directed by Milap Zaveri, Marjaavan scored a good opening on the first day which was expected as it was out-an-out masala entertainment aimed at the mass centers while multiplexes were poor.
The trailer of Marjaavaan was well received as it crossed 41 million views since its release one month back. Marjaavaan, also starring Tara Sutaria and Rakul Preet, received poor reviews from the critics but paying audience were satisfied as per BookMyShow.com which led to the first day opening of Rs 7.03 crore which is the 20th Highest of 2019 at same levels as Chhichhore.
As per early estimates, Marjaavaan showed a slight growth on Saturday as mass circuits were good but multiplexes were a big no-no, which led to the earnings on second day some where between Rs 7.5-8.5 crore only, bringing the 2 days collections to Rs 14.5-15.5 crore.
Marjaavaan tells the story of Raghu and Zoya whose lives turns upside when a local gang lord enters their life. Marjaavaan is being backed by Nikhil Advani, Madhu Bhojwani and Monisha Advani of Emmay Entertainment. The masala entertainment is estimated to be made on a budget of Rs 50 crore (Production Cost: 40 Crore, Prints & Advertising Cost: 10 Crore)
