Monty is a musician from the Philippines who had just recovered from some tough health conditions. Monty Macalino and his band, Mayonnaise, recently dropped a song titled after BLACKPINK‘s Rosé. He revealed the comfort and healing from Rosé he got during his hard time.

In an interview with PhilSTAR L!fe, Monty revealed that he faced a scary situation with his health. When he discovered he had a medical condition in his veins. He thought that he was going to be amputated and that his musical career was over.

“I was really depressed at that time. For some reason, after I got out of the hospital after ten days, I was out of it. I was panicking. I thought I was going to relapse.”

Despite his depression, he realized that he had to overcome it: “I said to myself, ‘I need to get organized’.” After visiting his parents and receiving the rest he needed and created the album “Family and Friends.”

One song in the album that has been gaining a lot of attention was a song titled after BLACKPINK’s Rosé, as Park Chaeyoung which is Rosé’s real name.

He revealed he got the inspiration for his lyrics by looking at Rosé photos on social media: “I found a muse in her.” and also that he was not using BLACKPINK as a marketing move. He merely wanted to show his appreciation for her: “I just want to make a song that matters to me because, at the end of the day, that’s all I want to do.”
