In India, when we think 'Toyota', we get visions of the Fortuner and Innova Crysta. Of course, these are reliable cars that will go on for, maybe, a hundred years or so! However, Toyota goes beyond just these and the manufacturer makes some exciting cars that sadly India is oblivious to. The car you see here is the new Toyota Supra. If you are a fan of cars, or have played a few car-based computer games, or have even seen the ‘Fast and Furious’ movie series, then the name Supra should ring a bell. It is an iconic car, but it took Toyota years to finally make a replacement in form of a new-generation model. With some help from BMW, of course.
The Supra you see here has been been developed in collaboration with BMW. Hence the new Z4 and Supra are almost ‘sister’ cars though Toyota has tuned its vehicle differently to suite its audience. As a halo product, the new Supra can lift Toyota's brand image in India as a maker of exciting cars, much like the Mustang has done for Ford here.
The new Supra looks fantastic, with proper sports car proportions and goes like one too. In India, due to the name itself, Toyota, if it brings it here, will not have a problem selling them and that image may rub off onto the other cars too.
