Our audience loves to read stories of phenomenal women creating a difference in the world. Enlighten our readers about the work you do.
I own a company called Style Society. We work with brands and companies that want to grow and expand their digital and traditional marketing strategies. We help grow the brand’s visibility as well as work on business development strategies such as look books, creating video contents and so much more!
What inspired you to create Style Society? How did it all start?
It’s a funny story! Eight years ago I started a YouTube channel followed by an Instagram focused on fashion and styling. At the time, Style Society was a fashion sales agency and with the retail environment changing the way it was, we started thinking about adding digital marketing services into our catalog. We were seeing the world of fashion changing first hand; brands were investing more and more on digital talent and moving their sales from brick and mortar to online. Being on YouTube and Instagram gave me the insight and conviction I needed to finally make the jump. For the past five years, we have been strictly a digital marketing firm.
What kind of fashion inspires you personally? What is your take on the present-day fashion scene in the country?
I like when people switch it up; mix high and low pieces, vintage and new. I like the originality! That’s what inspires me the most about this industry, the ‘you do you’ mentality. As far as the scene ATM, I am loving some aesthetics more than others. Instagram has been great for expanding our fashion horizons but on the flip side, it’s also created a ‘fashion uniform’ if that makes any sense. People doing their own thing; walking at the best of their drum, inspires me.
Every entrepreneur has to go through major challenges while setting up and running any successful brand. What sort of challenges do you face on a day-to-day basis?
OMG, do you have 2 weeks to talk about it? Being your own boss and building a brand has so much positivity attached to it but also so much stress!!
What is your dream about taking your brand to the next level in 2020?
We have a few partners in mind for 2020 – I can’t talk about it, don’t want to jinx it.
What factors should coming-of-age fashion enthusiasts keep in mind to be successful as a fashion brand?
The most important thing to remember is to be authentic and true to your brand. Be yourself and stick to who you are.
Fashion can make people nervous! What is your take on that?
Keep the fun factor alive! We’re supposed to play around with new styles, colors, and trends. The best fashion is always the one that you feel comfortable and confident in!
