Both Akshay Kumar starrer Mission Mangal and John Abraham starrer Batla House had a fantastic week posting healthy results even on the weekdays at the box office.
The multi-starrer film Mission Mangal has done well in last 8 days inspite of mixed reviews.
Mission Mangal opened to an excellent response in the morning show with occupancy rate 50-55% and picked up later in the evening and night shows, consolidating the first day opening with gigantic Rs 29.16 crore which is the second best opening of the year after Bharat. Due to Friday being a normal working day, Mission Mangal dropped to Rs 17.28 crore but picked up again on Saturday with Rs 23.58 crore, followed by a staggering Rs 27.54 crore on Sunday. The sci-drama dropped on first Monday with Rs 8.91 crore and Rs 7.92 crore on Tuesday, followed by another solid hold on Wednesday with Rs 6.84 crore.
As per early estimates, there was a good hold on Thursday, collecting Rs 6.31 crore and bringing the 8 days total to Rs 127.54 crore and becoming the 6th highest grossing film of Akshay Kumar defeating Rustom (Rs 127.49 crores).Mission Mangal has crossed its budget of Rs 100 (Production Cost: Rs 32 Crore, Salary Cost: Rs 50 Crore, Prints & Advertising Cost: Rs 18 Crore).

Like Akshay Kumar, John Abraham hits another successful year with RAW (Romeo Akbar Walter) and Batla House, which tells the true incident of the 2008 controversial encounter at Batla House in Delhi.
Batla House has opened to a good 20-25% occupancy in the morning shows across India but did well in the evening and night shows, touching Rs 15.55 crore which is lesser than Satyameva Jayate. (Rs 20.52 crore) but good enough to post a second highest opening film of John Abraham. There was a big drop on second day at the box office due to the normal working day, minting Rs 8.84 crore. The cop drama show a slight growth on Saturday with Rs 10.90 crore, followed by a decent growth on Sunday with Rs 12 crore. The film showed a good hold on Monday with Rs 5.05 crore, Tuesday with Rs 4.78 crore and Wednesday with Rs 4.24 crore
As per early estimates, Batla House showed another good hold on Tuesday with Rs 3.98 crore and summing up the 8 days total to Rs 66.08 crore and is inching close the budget which is Rs 75 crore (Production Cost: Rs 60 Crore Prints & Advertising Cost: Rs 15 Crore)
Batla House stars John Abraham, Ravi Kishan, Mrunal Thakur and Nora Fatehi and is being directed by Nikhil Advani (Kal Ho Na Ho and D-Day).
