After a hefty 2 weeks at the box office, Akshay Kumar starrer Mission Mangal showed a drop due to the release of much awaited, Saaho but gathered momentum on the third week.

Mission Mangal opened to an excellent response and continued to perform well with a solid first extended week collection, minting a staggering Rs 128.16 crore. The sci fi drama did pretty good in the second week with Rs 49.95 crore.

Mission Mangal dropped on the third Friday due to the release of Saaho with Rs 2.20 crore, Rs 3.20 crore in Saturday and Rs 3.65 crore on Sunday. Mission Mangal did well on fourth Monday with Rs 2.30 crore. As per early estimates, the drop on third Tuesday with Rs 1.61 crore, bringing the 20 days total to Rs 191.11 crore.

Mission Mangal is directed by Jagan Shakti and stars Viday Balan, Sonakshi Sinha, Sharman Joshi, Tapsee Pannu and Nithya Menen in key roles. Mission Mangal tells the true story of the journey of Indian scientist from Indian Space Research Organisation who made it possible for Mars Orbiter Mission (Mangalyaan), the first Indian space probe to be launched in Mars.

Batla House

Batla House, dropped big time due to the new release at the box office on its third Friday but recovered well on the third week.

Batla House has opened to a good response inspite of clashing with Mission Mangal and registered a nice collections with Rs 65.84 crore in its first extended week. Due to the strong word of mouth, Batla House performed well in the second week with Rs 25.92 crore

Batla House dropped on the third Friday with Rs 73 lakhs due to the release of Saaho but gathered the steam on the extended weekend, minting Rs 91 lakhs on Saturday, Rs 1.52 crore on Sunday, Rs 70 lakhs in Monday. As per early estimates, Batla House showed a slight drop with Rs 55 lakhs, bringing the 20 days total to Rs 96.17 crore.

Batla House stars John Abraham, Ravi Kishan, Mrunal Thakur and Nora Fatehi and is being directed by Nikhil Advani (Kal Ho Na Ho and D-Day).
