Mollywood Actors Prithviraj, Indrajith, Tovino, Manju Warrier Offering Condolences To The Malayalam Poet Sugathakumari’s Family; Who Recently Passed Away

Sugathakumari is the eminent Malayalam poet, conservationist and women’s activist. Who had been recently admitted to the hospital after being diagnosed with the viral infection on December 21.

And according to the media reports, Sugathakumari was kept under the ventilator support and added that she suffered from severe bronchial pneumonia and the condition of her vital organs deteriorated. But after two days of being on bed, the poet passed away on Wednesday, 23rd December 2020.

In remembrance of the activist several Mollywood actors like Prithviraj, Indrajith Sukumaran, Aju Varghese, Tovino Thomas, etc offered condolences to her family.

Prithviraj Sukumaran shared her photo and wrote, “Rest in peace Ma’am. Have fond memories of receiving multiple debating and elocution awards from her.”

Tovino Thomas shared her photo and wrote, “Tributes to Sugathakumari Teacher, the beloved Malayalam poet!”

Author and politician Shashi Tharoor wrote on Twitter in his tribute to Sugathakumari, “The tragic end has come. As I bow my head in tribute to the departed soul, I recall many moments at her side, from felicitating her Saraswati Samman, to addressing environmentalists alongside her”.

Sugathakumari was fondly called ”Sugatha Teacher” by hundreds of her followers and she was known for her poems filled with compassion and philosophical quest. In her poetic career of over 60 years, she ruthlessly fought against the oppression of women.
