Coral Castle, Florida, United States - The famous Coral Castle in Florida owes its existence to Agnes Scuff and her momentary impulsive decision. The story goes back to the early 1900. Agnes Scuff was to marry Edward Leedskalnin the next day, but suffered a sudden change of heart. The bride-to-be hence became the runaway bride. The moonstruck groom, Ed was shaken with disheartenment and embarrassment, left his native Latvia and marched for Florida, wandering around in the dark with no one around but a lantern. 28 years hence, in 1951, he surprised the world with this magnificent castle. The man, a puny creature who stood just 5 feet above the ground and weighed a mere 100 pounds leaves the world awestruck. How he erected this castle is still a mystery unsolved though some opine he applied magnetism. Bet, that damsel remains to stay a loser for running away from this genius who built her a monument of love. (Image - au.pfinance.yahoo.com)
