Today we saw the release of diverse films – Kangana Ranaut starrere Panga and Varun Dhawan and Shraddha Kapoor starrer Street Dancer. Let us see the morning show occupancy report of both films.
Kangana Ranaut is back with yet another performance driven film, Panga, after two mind-blowing performances last year – Manikarnika-The Queen Of Jhansi and Judgementall Hai Kya, and accompanying her is Ashwini Iyer Tiwari, who directed magnificent films like Nil Battey Sannata and Bareilly Ki Barfi. Obviously, audience has high expectations from the sports drama, Panga.
Panga earned good reviews but competition from Street Dancer and Tanhaji prevented it from taking a decent opening. Panga opened to somewhere between 5-10%. Since it is a content driven cinema and can get an opening of Rs 3-4 crores from 1450 and will depend entirely on the word-of-mouth reviews.
Street Dancer 3D
Street Dancer earned good reviews as well from critics and users which led the film to open well in the morning shows.
Follow up to sequels ABCD and ABCD 2, the trailer of Street Dancer was promising (59 million views) while the songs have generated buzzword. Shraddha Kapoor is popular after giving back to back hits with Chhichhore and Saaho and her pairing with Varun Dhawan after ABCD 2 has been well received. As per analysis, Street Dancer opened somewhere 20-25% and has the chance to collect Rs 13-14 crore from 3700 crore, though there will be competition from Tanhaji which is doing extremely good, especially in Maharasthta.
