Mumbai Receives First Rains of 2021, More Showers Likely in Coming days; Air Quality Worse than Delhi

In the early morning today on 8th January Mumbai received light showers in the city and suburbs. From the last four days in a row, weather is reminding the end of the monsoon season with light to moderate showers.

Mumbai city and adjoining Thane, Kalyan, Dombivali, Palghar and Raigad regions have been receiving rains since Monday morning. There has also recorded a dip temperature with smog shrouding parts of the city leading to decrease the visibility.

Regional Meteorological center head, KS Hosalikar said, “Mumbai, Thane and Navi Mumbai received light rains in the last six hours at most places as seen from rainfall monitoring networks with yellow and green spots.  

According to the IMD forecast, it will be cloudy with thunderstorms with the minimum temperature at 22 degrees Celsius for the next 48 hours.
