Cult chicken-favorite Nando’s has just released a Christmas-inspired burger - and it sounds incredible.
The festive burger, which will be available at Nando’s everywhere December 1, showcases all of our favourite holiday flavours while remaining faithful to their famous peri-peri spicy chicken.
Brimming with crispy onions, cranberry sauce, a festive slaw, it also features in intriguing-sounding mushroom and chestnut pâté, all atop a peri-peri chicken breast fillet and flame grilled thigh. It already has us drooling - and we've asked to give it a taste test as soon as possible.
As for the name, Nando’s has officially dubbed their new burger “the Mzansi (meaning South Africa) Christmas Burger,” as a homage to their South African roots.
The burger costs £9.25 on its own, £10.95 with one regular side, and £12.65 with two regular sides and sounds like the perfect lunch-time holiday feast.
And if you're in the mood for a festive treat, don't forget that we've tasted and ranked almost every high street Christmas sandwich out there.
Assistant lifestyle editor Rachel Hosie took on the enviable task of munching through the festive offerings, declaring Boots' ham hock sandwich a resounding dud.
Her favourite? The Co-op Turkey and Trimmings Christmas sandwich, which we marvelled at for its buttery richness - providing "everything you want in a sandwich".
