Uttarakhand Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat's comment on a woman wearing ripped jeans is receiving a lot of backlash on the internet. #RippedJeansTwitter trend is observed on the micro-blogging site, Twitter, after Amitabh Bachchan’s granddaughter Navya Naveli Nanda expressed her displeasure over this judgment, and joining the bandwagon is actress and politician Gul Panag. The actress too dropped a picture sporting jeans ripped at knees, she teamed her blue pair of denim ripped jeans with a bright yellow t-shirt in her mirror selfie.


Seen along with a little girl, she wrote in her Tweet, “"* Takes out ripped jeans.** “ and “#RippedJeansTwitter” Followed by this when a netizen asked the actress are they comfortable, “The most comfortable?” She replied to his tweet by mentioning that she bought these pair of jeans 11 years ago and over the period of time they have worn out and emphasized further that she did not buy ripped jeans. Navya taking to her INSTA Stories had also shared a picture of her sporting ripped jeans, with a text that urged to change thought process before asking someone to change clothes. Her INSTA Stories read, “Wtf! Change your mentality before changing our clothes :) because the only thing shocking here is the message comments like this send to society.
